Kungl introduced Clean-Up Barrie and provided background of the presenter as a non-profit group that has worked with the City to help clean up waste and debris. J. Slykhuis, Clean-Up Barrie representative discussed slides with the committee concerning the following topics: · Locations that Clean-Up Barrie has cleaned to date; · 2023 Achievements; · Overall achievements since starting in 2020; · Partners and Supporters; · Clean-Up Crew- Employment Program; · Litter Hot Spots; · List of where most of the litter comes from; · How Clean-Up Barrie aligns with Council’s Strategic Plan; · Recommendations and Directions to Staff; and · How to support the organization. TMP-32037 1  Discussion ItemBRETT GRATRIX, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO PROVIDE A BRIEF UPDATE REGARDING THE WALKWAYS TO SCHOOL. Brett Gratrix, Senior Project Manager gave a brief update to the committee regarding the Walkways to School pilot project. Mr. Gratrix noted that currently five schools were selected for this pilot project. The Operations Department put some financial stats together regarding this project that show the project is feasible. Mr. Gratrix noted that he will email a draft request to the committee regarding how the five schools were selected. TMP-32036 1  Discussion ItemUPDATES FROM DRAFTED WORKING GROUPS Councillor, AM. Kungl provided an overview of comments and ideas regarding the Committee’s working groups. Councillor, AM. Kungl reviewed the different sections of the working group board and asked any members that have not signed up to a group yet to please do so. The Committee Members were asked to pick one item from each working group to focus on and outline the steps needed to reach the resolution. The working groups were asked to appoint one person from each group as the lead and the lead will provide an update to the committee at the next meeting.Received  Action details Not available
